When is CarPlay 2 Launching? Here is What Apple Said
It has been nearly three years since Apple previewed next-generation CarPlay at WWDC 2022, and it has yet to launch in any vehicles. While the long wait has been disappointing, the good news is that Apple recently confirmed that next-generation CarPlay remains in development, so it should be available eventually. Maybe. Hopefully.

A few months ago, Apple confirmed that "several" car makers still planned to support next-generation CarPlay in future vehicle models. Apple said each car brand would share more details as they neared the announcements of those vehicles. Apple previously said that next-generation CarPlay would launch in 2024, but that did not happen, and the company no longer provides a timeframe on its website. It's simply coming… one day.
Apple's statement:
The next generation of CarPlay builds on years of success and insights gained from CarPlay, delivering the best of Apple and the automaker in a deeply integrated and customizable experience. We continue to work closely with several automakers, enabling them to showcase their unique brand and visual design philosophies in the next generation of CarPlay. Each car brand will share more details as they near the announcements of their models that will support the next generation of CarPlay.
Apple previously said committed car makers included Acura, Aston Martin, Audi, Ford, Honda, Infiniti, Jaguar, Land Rover, Lincoln, Mercedes-Benz, Nissan, Polestar, Porsche, Renault, and Volvo. It is unclear which car makers are still working with Apple.
Next-generation CarPlay will have deeper integration with a vehicle's instrument cluster, climate controls, FM radio, and more. It will also support multiple displays across the dashboard, and offer a variety of personalization options.
