Apple Reveals How Many iPhones Are Running iOS 18
Apple recently shared its first iOS 18 and iPadOS 18 usage figures, revealing how many iPhones and iPads are running those software versions.

These adoption numbers are based on iPhones and iPads that transacted on the App Store on January 21, 2025, according to Apple.
The statistics are as follows:
- 68% of all iPhones were updated to iOS 18.
- 76% of all iPhones introduced in the last four years were updated to iOS 18.
- 53% of all iPads were updated to iPadOS 18.
- 63% of all iPads introduced in the last four years were updated to iPadOS 18.
Last year, Apple said iOS 17 was installed on 66% of all iPhones that transacted on the App Store on February 5, so iOS 18 already being at 68% as of January 24 this year suggests iPhone users are installing iOS 18 at a faster pace compared to iOS 17.
iOS 18's key new features include Apple Intelligence, a more customizable Home Screen and Control Center, a redesigned Photos app, and more. iOS 17 added a StandBy mode that turns an iPhone into a bedside clock, a Journal app, Live Voicemail, and more.
