Steve Jobs: USB 3 Not Taking Off At This Time

if Steve Jobs' latest customer email is to believed, it seems Mac users will have to continue to wait for USB 3, According to an email response inquiring about USB3 for Mac, Steve Jobs reportedly wrote:
We don't see USB 3 taking off at this time. No support from Intel, for example.
USB 3 has been previously rumored to be coming to the Mac Pro and iMac lines, though the latest email casts some doubt on how quickly Apple will adopt the new standard. USB 3 promises higher speeds for external devices.Top Rated Comments

On the one hand this sounds like the sort of thing a purely reactive company would say, but on the other Apple are probably right that USB 3 would make no difference to 95% of purchasers.

I fully support USB 3.0. What is Jobs talking about?
He's talking about the fact that Intel (the one-"L" Intel) still isn't building USB 3.0 support into their chipsets. Try to keep up.17 months ago
He said the same thing about bluray, mac users wont see it until it becomes an industry standard.
