Social networking app Instagram appears to be down for some users, with hundreds of complaints on Twitter and other social networks about the outage. The app is non-functional in multiple countries for approximately 24,000 people.

In a statement to Reuters, a Meta spokesperson says that a fix is in the works. "We're aware that some people are having trouble accessing Instagram. We're working to get things back to normal and apologize for any inconvenience."
The app started experiencing issues since approximately 5:00 p.m. Eastern Time, but as of 8:25 p.m. Eastern Time, the app appears to be working again for most people.
