With these discounts, one has to wonder what the break even price is. $100 per product? I think they'll still get loads of profit with these lower prices.

I have a 65" Samsung in the living room and love it (going on 6 years, I think). Needing another one for an addition. That 65" for $1k has my attention. Anyone own one?
I bought one for the same price this weekend from Best Buy. So far I really like it but the menus and controls are clumsy. The picture seems very good once you dial it in. Way over saturated and the blur and motion features were making me sick looking at the TV. Turned those off. So far so good. I've watched football, basketball, news, TV shows and a movie. All looked really good.

My previous TV was a 2016 LG 55 B6 OLED. The Samsung is much brighter and doesn't have nearly as much of an issue with crushed black/dark gray scenes. a keeper I think for $999. But I still have the box in my garage for a few more days lol

ViewFiniity S9 is a 27" 5K monitor just like ASD for about HALF of ASDs MSRP. And it comes with a little remote and apps so you can use it like a little TV (too). Front facing camera is superior. "Stand options" are NOT extra but included. And, it has an extra input port so you can plug something else in like maybe a little PC for "old fashioned bootcamp" or a game console.

The fans will sling "plasticy" and "wobbly", etc because "only Apple can make a good anything (they make)" but the key part that one looks at in a monitor matches the full retina 5K resolution of the ASD. So if you want a 5K 27" monitor, consider it a legit competitor. And if you want 2 of them you can take the budget for ONE ASD with stand option and buy TWO S9s.

Even if one can't bear the thought of not having the logo on a piece of tech made by the logo, a price this good for like (key) specs may inspire Apple to sharpen their own pencil for their Black Friday pricing either directly or through third party partners.

Competition is always good for consumers, especially those who can "think different."
There’s a reason why these are consistently
steeply discounted. Build quality is lackluster at best and the user experience doesn’t match, especially if you’re using it with Apple products. My daughter has the 32 inch M8 and it’s been a headache for the two years she’s owned it.

Look at the reviews across the Internet, including in Samsung’s own website. Specs on paper don’t mean anything if the product isn’t very good.
