Would be interested to see a comparison between the two models. On one hand, you keep all the revenue, but you have to pay the driver(s), car/motorbike/bicycle, petrol, some sort of insurance, etc. And the amount of delivery people is your bottleneck.

On the other hand, someone handles everything for you and they supply an almost infinite amount of delivery guys (like Grab Food here in SE Asia). The only limit is how fast you manage to cook.

Also, you are allowed to raise prices on Grab Food compared to your regular menu. Seems quite fair, especially for the super cheap kebab/falafel spots.

I dare say Grab Food / Food Panda / etc single handedly saved (and are still saving) the restaurant business here in Malaysia - even in the thickest of the COVID lockdown, deliveries were allowed. At some point in March / April the only vehicles on the roads were the police and the green and pink delivery motorbikes.

Not to mention how great it is for the customer, to have one payment method covering all restaurants, ability to give a tip digitally to the delivery guy, seeing them on the map to know when exactly to come out, etc.
GrubHub has been known to grab URL’s similar to the restaurant names and setup fakes pages with different phone numbers that route through them so they get a cut. On the in app restaurant page they’ll list the same number because they know if people call the actual restaurant they don’t get a cut of the purchase. They bill the restaurants so much that restaurants don’t get any profit and end up losing money from advertising and other fees.

If I’m going to use their service it’s for restaurant chains like McDonalds or some place similar as I know they can afford the fees. Local businesses I’ll support in person.

These companies hurt local business by taking a cut of the restaurant revenues. Order direct and pick it up yourself, or use the restaurants own delivery service.
These food delivery businesses are slimy

My Grubhub won't even allow ApplePay to be added. The option just doesn't appear. Google results only say "log off, then back on" or "reinstall the app", and neither work. Tried app, tried mobile site, tried desktop site: all fail. Grubhub support told me they would get back to me AFTER the promotion ended. WTF.
