Resellers List AirTag Accessory Color Options Not Yet Offered by Apple

Alongside introducing the new MagSafe Battery Pack last week, Apple debuted new AirTag Leather Loop and ‌AirTag‌ Key Ring accessories in updated colors, but it appears there may be more official shades to come, if existing reseller listings are accurate.

For example, Amazon currently has additional ‌AirTag‌ Loop color options in Capri Blue and Pink Citrus, and both the ‌AirTag‌ Leather Loop and ‌AirTag‌ Leather Key Ring are listed as available in Meyer Lemon.

The colors also appear in other third-party online retailers, yet none of them are listed on Apple's online store. All the resellers list the additional colors as out of stock until August or into September, so it's always possible Apple will also add them to its own online store at around that time.

We aren't expecting any big product announcements from Apple until at least September with the launch of the new iPhone series, so the company may just silently add them to its accessory offerings for ‌AirTag‌ in the near future or tag them onto a big product press release. Watch this space.

Google today introduced the Pixel Tag, its answer to Apple's AirTag. Pixel Tag is Google's first item tracker, even though Google implemented an item tracking network two years ago that's been used by third-party devices. For the first time since Apple started selling standard and "Pro" iPhones, we're not going to get an entry-level iPhone model this fall. Apple doesn't plan to release an iPhone 18 in September, and will only launch the iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max, and foldable iPhone Ultra. The lower-cost iPhone 18 won't come out until spring 2027. Subscribe to the MacRumors YouTube channel for more ...

Anyone else find it odd that Apple's selling bright-coloured accessories for something that's, typically, going to be hidden away? I mean it's not as if an AirTag has the makings of a fashion accessory...
It's a poor man's Porsche key. You know, the thing you place next to your Cappuccino for a instagram shot.

I didn’t even know what I’d use them for exactly, but I bought the 4-pack because it was surprisingly affordable.

finally used them one day before work, to find my keys! Success! They were at the foot of the bed tangled in the sheets. Wasn’t late for my ride to work!

I know folks like to show off their shiny Apple stuff, but drawing attention to your tracker isn’t a good idea. Put your airtag inside your bag and sell me a airtag holder that looks like a normal key ring.

Its rather immature purchasing habits and lack of self-control rather than capitalism issue. And then, there is the whim. If people only buy things that they actually need, Ferrari would not sell a single car.

I do also like the idea of putting one in my luggage for proof of fault to the airport during insurance claim purposes if space forbid I ever get my luggage lost on a flight.
That would be my number one use. For $/£30, it's a great insurance policy.
