Tom Hanks WWII Movie 'Greyhound' Debuts on Apple TV+

Apple TV+ today debuted "Greyhound," the highly anticipated Second World War movie starring Tom Hanks as a naval officer given command of Navy destroyer Greyhound in the Battle of the Atlantic.

"Greyhound" features Hanks as George Krause, who must fight his own self doubts and personal demons as he leads a convoy of Allied ships against German U-boats to prove that he belongs in command.

The screenplay for the movie was written by Hanks and the film was meant to be released in theaters, but could not premiere because most theaters across the United States remain closed. Apple ultimately paid $70 million for the film to premiere on ‌Apple TV‌+.

Alongside "Greyhound," the first four episodes of "Little Voice" also debuted on Apple's streaming service today. The show is a coming of age drama created by J.J. Abrams, Sara Bareilles, and Jessie Nelson, and uses original music by Bareilles. Apple also debuted short-form sports docuseries "Greatness Code" on Friday.

‌Apple TV‌‌+ can be accessed through the TV app on the iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, ‌‌Apple TV‌‌, Mac, select Samsung and LG smart TVs, Amazon Fire TV and Roku devices, as well as online at tv.apple.com. A list of all of the TV shows and movies on the service can be found in our guide.

I would love for Hank's next WWII epic to be about the battle of Attu.

A lot of folks are unaware that in WWII there was a major battle in Alaska on a small island that included a Japanese charge and hand to hand combat.

It is also the most well-preserved WWII battlefield in the whole world.

77 years later you can still see the bomb craters from bombs dropped by the USA on the airfield the Japanese army was working on.

Unfortunately Apple also saw the need to spam notifications out even though you are not subscribed and didn‘t opt in. If I wanted ads on my devices I would have Windows.

film was ok, no character development, was like going from his girlfriend turning him down to being on a boat.....war, blowing up a u boat, not eating his food....taking a sip of coffee, more war, more war, blow up a u boat.... the end..... so much lost potential for this one.
I found myself asking why Elisabeth Shue was even in the movie.

Bit of a stinker. 91 minutes of Hanks screaming "Left full rudder to 085!". Shallow (te-hee!) plot, no character development, mediocre CGI. Better rewatch Das Boot or The Hunt for Red October.
