Apple Seeds Second Public Betas of iOS 15.6 and iPadOS 15.6

Apple today seeded the second public betas of iOS 15.6 and iPadOS 15.6, with the software updates coming two weeks after Apple seeded the first public betas of iOS 15.6 and iPadOS 15.6.

iOS 15
The iOS and iPadOS 15.6 betas can be downloaded over the air after the proper profile from Apple's public beta testing website has been installed on an iPhone or iPad.

There were no new features found in the developer betas of iOS 15.6 and iPadOS 15.6, suggesting that this is a minor update primarily focusing on bug fixes. Apple has also provided no release info at this time.

iOS 15.6 and iPadOS 15.6 are likely to be some of the last updates to iOS 15 and iPadOS 15 as Apple starts transitioning to the next-generation updates, iOS 16 and iPadOS 16, both of which will be unveiled in June at WWDC.

I had some frequent lag/freeze issues on my 2018 iPad Pro 11 with 15.5 and then the first beta of 15.6. Sometimes apps wouldn't even start up fully and then just give up and quit. Rebooting would fix the issue for a bit, but would return. Hopefully this fixes it or the next step is to reinstall/restore.

It could have 2 more beta cycles before iOS 16 is released in Sept/Oct. So don't be surprised to see a .7/.8 given what won't be able to update to iOS 16.

I've had this exact same issue, but with Apple's own messaging app. I have to do that hard reset sometimes 2-3 times per day to get it unfrozen. Blank screen and no ability to send or receive texts. I really hope this fixes that issue too.

Is there literally anything new to see in this beta? Don't think I've ever seen a full point release with no visible changes!

I also have had some issues more like the guy you’re replying to and fortunately less like yours. (I think this happens when Twitter or pip video are simultaneously running in background. It usually resolves if I turn one off.)

Generally my 6S, 6S+ and IPad Air 2 have run solidly on the 15 public betas (I started with 15.0 PB some weeks before 15.0 general release).

Been very pleased how well 15 runs on these old devices.
