Just want to point out, it's a little misleading to mention deals of the Samsung T9 series on this site because no Mac can take advantage of "USB 3.2 Gen 2x2" 20gbps speeds, which is the reason it costs extra than the 10gbps "USB 3.2 Gen 2" Samsung T7 series, which is $149 on amazon currently.

(Yes, the people who came up with these USB names should go to jail. No, a 40+ gbps Thunderbolt port doesn't help you get 20gbps USB speeds.)

Thank you for the information. That’s… a confusing mess (the USB standards), but you explained it well and simply.

So if someone wants faster than 10gbps speeds, go for a Thunderbolt 3/4 SSD (or USB 4)? Is that right?

Hasn't much of 2024 been a perpetual Black Friday Sale?

Even with great prices, how much additional cash do retailers really expect to wring out of consumers?
