These 3 Apple Accessories Expected to Switch to USB-C Next Week
Apple is expected to announce an updated Magic Keyboard, Magic Mouse, and Magic Trackpad for the Mac at its "Scary Fast" event on Monday, October 30. The accessories are expected to be equipped with USB-C ports instead of Lightning for charging.
The accessories will likely be unveiled alongside an updated 24-inch iMac with an M3 chip, which is also rumored to be announced at the event.
It's unclear if the accessories will have any design changes beyond the switch to USB-C. The current Magic Mouse is infamous for having a Lightning port on its bottom side, which prevents the mouse from being used while charging.
Now that all iPhone 15 models are equipped with a USB-C port, Apple is expected to fully transition away from Lightning across all of its products and accessories. The latest Siri Remote for the Apple TV has a USB-C port, and the MagSafe Battery Pack and MagSafe Duo Charger accessories with Lightning were recently discontinued.
