Getting fatigued by Samsung's confusing marketing acronyms to describe panel technology. Stop with the NEO, QUANTUM Dot, QLED nonsense.

It's an OLED, or it's an LED-lit LCD. Stop confusing people.

In the early 2010's I had friends who had a Samsung TV with some kind of smooth motion thing. It was awful. TV shows looked like amateur theater productions. Movies sometimes looked out of place and their Samsung 5.1 surround system would have issues but unlike my Sony TV and HTIB, their remotes just wouldn't work seamlessly. I just can't get over how bad Samsung is and would never purchase one of their TVs no matter the price.

Every TV has that nauseating crap now, usually enabled by default. It's kind of a hallmark of watching TV at the home of a boomer that they obliviously have it on and everything looks insane (except sports, where it actually kind of makes sense).

Good news, you can turn it off very easily. Just google the name of the TV model and "disable smooth motion".

That smooth motion was awful. Made everything look like a soap opera or live news feed.

I believe you could turn that off though.

Fantastic televisions... for AppleTV. I own a QLED big screen and love it. AppleTV showing something on it just about every evening... no worries about burn-in.
