CES 2021: PopSockets Unveils New MagSafe-Compatible Grips

PopSockets today announced the upcoming launch of a new line of MagSafe-compatible accessories that have been created to work with Apple's iPhone 12 models. These accessories are designed to be easily removable to allow ‌iPhone‌ 12 devices to charge, as prior PopSocket accessories attached through adhesive.

PopSockets is unveiling three new grips, a wallet with an integrated grip, and two mounts. The first product, the PopGrip for MagSafe, attaches magnetically to MagSafe-compatible cases for ‌iPhone‌ 12 models. It has a no-slip rubber bottom and it works with the PopSockets PopMount 2 phone mounts.

The PopGrip Slide for ‌iPhone‌ 12 attaches mechanically to the sides of an Apple Silicone case using sliding arms, while the PopGrip Slide Stretch attaches mechanically to most MagSafe-Compatible cases.

PopSockets says that the new mounts will allow PopSockets Grips users to magnetically mount their ‌iPhone‌ 12 devices without moving their grips, and swappable tops are included for customizability.

The PopWallet+ for ‌MagSafe‌ is a customizable wallet that lets users carry up to three cards and it has an integrated grip. It attaches magnetically to the ‌iPhone‌ 12 or MagSafe-compatible cases.

The PopMount for ‌MagSafe‌ includes the PopMount for ‌MagSafe‌ Multi-Surface and the PopMount for ‌MagSafe‌ Car Vent, both of which attach to the ‌iPhone‌ 12 magnetically for mounting purposes. As mentioned above, these mounts allow the PopGrip ‌MagSafe‌ to remain attached.

PopSockets plans to launch the first of its new ‌MagSafe‌ accessories in the Spring of 2021. The PopGrip Slide Stretch will be available on March 21 on PopSockets.com and in Target locations, with the PopGrip Slide and PopMount line launching a bit later.

These grips are proof that modern iPhones are too big to comfortably use with one hand, except maybe the 12 Mini.

So great!
Now I‘ll be able to remove it residue-free and throw it away!

These things are ugly and people using them (usually girls/women with freakishly long fingernails and with more make-up than skin on their faces) look (and probably are) stupid.

(But I love MagSafe and the possibilities it provides!)
Though I don't use Popsockets, you may want to talk to someone. Have popsockets wronged you in the past?

That you dont like then does not mean that people who use them are stpd, i happen to use the otter pop case and i find it very useful, Popsockets has also sent me a few of their poptops and i match them to my outfits, because i actually am a pretty stylish person and have way more stylish things to do then call people who dont use popsockets stpd, and btw since i started using it almost all of my friends strted to use them too, they’re one of those things that are super practical, like a good card holder.

Can’t quite visualize these from the descriptions. Which MagSafe pop socket is pictured? No pics of the other ones yet? I’m still skeptical the pop socket will always be able to stay on when sliding into a tight pocket many times throughout the day. I’d think a magnetic quasi case would be the most secure solution—it would have lips that extend over all the edges of the back of the iPhone so that it can’t slide off but doesn’t wrap around fully to the front of the phone so that it is still mainly only attached by magnet and can still be somewhat easily removed, if that makes sense.

But actually, I don’t need this myself since I use a true one-handed iPhone SE1 haha. I do use two pop sockets on my iPad mini though and find them indispensable.
