It is not clear what's included in the firmware update at this time, but Apple is planning to introduce hearing aid and hearing test functionality for the AirPods Pro 2 sometime this year.

While the current firmware is limited to developers right now, it will be released for all AirPods Pro 2 users in the future.

What's the point of a beta if they don't tell us what to test? I sure as hell am not going to install a beta that doesn't have clearly spelled out changes.

who's installing beta software on AirPods that has no clear features?
Everyone is. It's not an option. It just happens.

Also, you mean "no clear features" for you, for now. Eventually, someone will let you know what the changes are.

I still struggle to find the difference between adaptive and transparent. Both sound the same to me.

I hope the release that makes it to the general public will stop all those weird electronic chirps that happens when the pods are put back in the case or the case is put on wireless charging. And this is not the "Enable beep" feature that makes the case go beep/ding when it's first charging. It's those small electronic-y sounds that is very faint. They are annoying.
Those are to indicate that the AirPods are recognized by the case and will start charging in said case. Those are also turned off when you disable charging case sounds.
