Space Gray Magic Keyboard, Magic Mouse, and Magic Trackpad Are Currently Sold With iMac Pro Only

Apple has confirmed the Magic Keyboard, Magic Mouse 2, and Magic Trackpad 2 in Space Gray are "available only at the time of your iMac Pro purchase."

The fine print on Apple's iMac Pro order page spells bad news for customers who were hoping to be able to purchase the Space Gray accessories separately for use with other Macs and Apple devices.

Apple sells the Magic Keyboard, Magic Keyboard with Numeric Trackpad, Magic Mouse 2, and Magic Trackpad 2 in a traditional white color on its online store alongside a few other keyboard and mouse accessories for Macs.

It appears that the black Lightning to USB-A cable included in the box is also exclusive to the iMac Pro at this time, with no option to purchase it separately from Apple's online store like traditional white versions.

Apple could easily choose to release the Space Gray accessories separately in the future, but for now, you may have to resort to eBay or Craigslist if you want a stealthier looking Magic Keyboard, Magic Mouse, or Magic Trackpad.

As far as a black Lightning cable, Apple sells a Belkin one for $29.95 on its website and there are others on Amazon for much cheaper.

Apple released the iMac Pro earlier today, with 8-core to 18-core models available for between $4,999 and $13,199 in the United States. 8-core and 10-core models ship in late December, and 14-core and 18-core models ship by February.

For now. Apple will cave to the pressure and sell these separately. How else would a "pro" user get a replacement if their's breaks? Seems too much trouble to only sell extra accessories to certain people.

I think they will eventually offer the space grey accessories like Apple eventually started selling the Nike+ watch bands a few months after the watch initially released.

Just ordered one through Apple. Have to know what you're requesting but they do have them available. :D

Do you see Apple cave to pressure?

You mean like the time they gave initial iPhone purchasers a $100 credit because of the backlash after the $200 price drop just a month after they went on sale?

Or the time Apple added FireWire MacBook in early 2009 after saying it was impossible for the engineers to add it to the late 2008 MacBook?

Free bumpers for iPhone 4 users after “Antenna-gate”?

Apple listens to their customers and changes when the pushback is strong enough.

We are destroying planet Earth and nobody seems to care. Wired whatever is much better than wireless whenever possible for anything, including also keyboards and mice. Batteries are obnoxious to the environment, besides much less convenient (for instance, less responsive) and a pain to recharge routinely.

Whaaaa? How did I miss this? I must've been sleeping when it came out. Thank you for updating me on current Apple products!!

They were released earlier this year, with the 2017 lineup refresh announced at WWDC. I upgraded to one when I bought my new iMac.

So no product red for christmas either then. Remember there was a red Mac Pro in 2013.

One, singular, red Mac Pro, for charity auction. I'm sure if you offered $997,000 to Apple, they might be able to make you a red keyboard :)

I could be wrong, but I swear they've done this before with special colors. You can order replacements through them, but only if you have the product in your order history or something.

It's not the color that attracts me (though it is very cool), but that Apple once again has a full size keyboard.

If you are not bothered by the colour...
