Apple updated the MacBook Air back in March, coming in both 13-inch and 15-inch sizes and with faster M3 chips. We aren't tracking as many discounts on the 15-inch version of the M3 MacBook Air this week, but there is a solid $200 markdown on the high-end 16GB RAM/512GB model on Amazon.

In regards to other 13-inch M3 MacBook Air models, Amazon has the 16GB RAM/512GB 13-inch MacBook Air for $1,329.00 in Space Gray, down from $1,499.00. This is another new all-time low price on the notebook, and it's also only available in one color at this time.

With iOS 18 Jumping to iOS 26, Will Apple Renumber iPhones Too?

Thursday May 29, 2025 1:59 pm PDT by
With the next-generation version of iOS and other 2025 software updates, Apple is planning to change its numbering scheme. Rather than iOS 19, which would logically follow iOS 18, Apple is instead going to call the update iOS 26. Apple plans to use 26 across all of its platforms (the number representing the upcoming year), which will presumably be less confusing than having iOS 19, macOS 16,...

The performance across the board is worse on the 8GB devices, tests prove that. Secondly, performance with future versions of MacOS will probably start to take a toll on these devices also. It's just my opinion but no computer in 2024 should cost $1,000 and only have 8GB of RAM.

For many, or most users 8GB will do just fine. I have never heard anyone say "I can not shop on the Amazon website because I don't have enough RAM in my Macbook."

What's happened is that Apple puts very fast SSM that is rated at 1.2PBW in the computer to back the RAM.

And for those who wnt more, they offer a Mac Studio.

Apple store is so stingy they never offer sales
The open secret is that many people, at least in the US, buy from Apple's Education Store, which offers $100 or so discount. And Apple is about to roll out Back To School special, which has been $150 gift card toward select Mac models (typically iMac, MacBook Air, and MacBook Pro) and $100 gift card for select iPad models (typically iPad mini, iPad Air, and iPad Pro).
