Apple Begins Selling Refurbished iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro Models

Apple today began selling certified refurbished iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro models in the United States for the first time since the devices were released in late 2020.

refurbished iphone 12
In the United States, only the 6.1-inch iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro models are available refurbished right now, with no iPhone 12 mini or iPhone 12 Pro Max models to choose from at this time. A variety of colors and storage capacities are available for delivery or scheduled pickup at select Apple Store locations.

As usual, the refurbished iPhones are discounted by around 15 percent compared to the equivalent brand new models. For example, an unlocked iPhone 12 with 64GB of storage is available for $619 through Apple's refurbished store in the United States, whereas Apple currently sells the same model for $729 brand new.

The refurbished iPhone 12 models are all unlocked and SIM-free. All refurbished iPhones come with a new battery, a new outer shell, and a new white box that includes all manuals and a USB-C to Lightning cable. All refurbished iPhones are covered by Apple's standard one-year warranty and are eligible for extended AppleCare+ coverage.

Apple says its refurbished products are thoroughly tested and cleaned, and in our view, they are virtually indistinguishable from brand new Apple products.

Not worth it.

Refurb 128Gb black iPhone 12 from Apple = £619

NEW 128Gb black iPhone 13 from Amazon = £729

Would rather pay the £110 extra

Not enough discount for me. You would think they would be about $200 cheaper than new iPhone 13 models... Ideally start at $499 (US).

This isn't correct at least for the UK - iPhone 12 models have been on the refurbished store here for at least the past month if not longer.

these have been on sale for months in the UK apple store. £579 refurb 64Gb. i have been watching them...

I know, mines a refurb from a few months back
Bit of a non story/bad research!
They are new in the US as of today and I mistakenly assumed they were just added in the UK as well. I've updated the story. Thanks.

On that refurb page,  continue to taunt fans of the Vader Edition (aka 'Jet Black') iPhone.
?
I hope they would offer Jet Black again. A Jet Black iPhone 14 Pro Max with USB-C would be an instant buy for me!

I like refurbished products, they typically go through a more rigorous QA testing. Plus Apple Care, makes it worth it to me. But I also prefer to have the newest phone out the gate, so I never get refurbished phones.
Same here. Apple is one of the few brands that I trust purchasing refurbished products from so long as the purchase is made directly from apple.com. I've owned so many Apple Refurbs over the years and always recommend them to family and friends. Many of whom are usually surprised to learn that many of my Apple products are actually refurbs. Other trusted refurbs straight from the manufacture are Nintendo and Oculus. DON'T EVER BUY A REFURB DIRECTLY FROM DYSON.
