These don’t seem very discounted. I am planning to get the 11 inch pro for a family member who has been holding off till the announcements yesterday.

What is the smart move here? I know either model will be plenty powerful for their needs so it’s more about whether these discounts are worth it over a new model. At present I don’t think they are worth the small cost savings. But let me know your thoughts.
Go with the 2021 iPad Pro. These discounts are mediocre and the improvements are worth it.

Keep in mind too we haven't even yet seen the software side of the 2021 Pros and won't until WWDC. You don't want to be leaving a lot more than you expect on the table.

I could almost see buying a 2020 12.9” if I were in the market for that size as the difference in price is pretty steep and the current gen is still very powerful, but no one should buy a new 11” at these discounts. $70 buys you a LOT of future proofing. Of course this will prob kill the resale on my 2018 iPP when I do upgrade . . .

Agreed. For a few more $ I'd go with the new M1 version.

Unless you KNOW you will NEVER use the pro software Apple has in the pipeline for the next year or two, DO NOT BUY a NEW non M1 iPad Pro
