MacEdition has updated with their MacTheKnife-like report which reveals the following:
"Dubbed Rosetta Stone (apparently in homage to the Blade's former nom de drag queen), the software -- currently in development for Mac OS X -- is aimed at resurrecting the mummified remains of the handwriting-recognition technology behind Apple's long-dead Newton PDA and putting it to work on forthcoming Mac lap- and desktops.
Newton fans (myself included) will claim that Apple's homegrown handwriting recognition is second to none... even still.

Apple today provided a schedule for its 2026 Worldwide Developers Conference, which starts on June 8 and ends on June 12. Apple also sent out invites to members of the media who have been invited to attend an in-person keynote viewing at Apple Park.
