Mac OS X Yellow Box - dead?

Stepwise posted some gripes about Apple and OS X. Some issues raised may or may not be issues to the general public... however, I do feel one definitely is:

OK.. so we're really flogging a dead horse here. But the fact is that Yellow Box/NT licenses were promised (contracts in hand), and yanked away. Steve Jobs' recent responses to
these questions seem to be "Why not sell your product on the Mac?".

No yellow box support means the write-once,deploy-everywhere goal of OS X is gone. This was a very appealing feature of the OS X/NeXT development environment.
