MacRumors IRC Channel (#MacRumors)
For the past few major Apple events, we've opened Internet Relay Chat (IRC) channels to accomodate the additional traffic and discussion, with our last event in April, drawing a record crowd.
The channel will remain open year-round.
For those with their own IRC Clients, the MacRumors channel is on irc.krono.net on channel #macrumors.
For readers who are new to IRC, we offer a customized OpenMac client named MRChat. MRChat provides readers with a simple Mac OS X IRC client which will automatically connect to the proper server and channel. which can be downloaded here:

Benchmarks for the new MacBook Neo surfaced today, and unsurprisingly, CPU performance is almost identical to the iPhone 16 Pro. The MacBook Neo uses the same 6-core A18 Pro chip that was first introduced in the iPhone 16 Pro, but it has one fewer GPU core.
The MacBook Neo earned a single-core score of 3461 and a multi-core score of 8668, along with a Metal score of 31286.
