Apple may be planning a wearable future for the upcoming iPhone 17, after multiple leakers suggested the company's official cases will support lanyard attachments.

According to leaker "Majin Bu," Apple's upcoming "TechWoven" cases – apparently replacing the discontinued FineWoven line – will feature small holes in the bottom corners for attaching straps. The cases might work with a new "Crossbody Strap" accessory, letting users wear their phones around their neck or across their body.
Another, more established leaker, "DuanRui," corroborated this claim with CAD drawings showing similar attachment points on alleged iPhone 17 Pro cases.
This wouldn't be Apple's first rodeo with lanyards. The AirPods Pro 2 charging case has a lanyard cutout, and the fifth-generation iPod touch had a built-in attachment mechanism.
Wearing phones has become something of a fashion trend lately, and a strap would make your iPhone harder to swipe from your hand or pocket. Whether in fact Apple sells its own straps or leaves it to third parties remains to be seen.
We'll know soon enough – Apple is expected to announce the iPhone 17 lineup next month, with one rumor pointing to September 9 for its annual iPhone event.
