iOS 18.0.1 Coming Soon: What to Expect for Your iPhone

Following the release of iOS 18 for the iPhone last month, Apple is preparing to release iOS 18.0.1 with bug fixes in the near future.

Generic iOS 18
We previously reported that Apple has been internally testing iOS 18.0.1, and today a private account on X with a proven track record of sharing iOS-related information said the update will have a build number of 22A3370.

We expect iOS 18.0.1 to be a minor update that hopefully addresses the following issues:

The update could also include security patches.

It is unclear when iOS 18.0.1 will be released to the public, but our best guess is the update will be available either this week or next week.

iOS 18.0.1 will precede iOS 18.1, which Apple previously announced will be released in October. Already available in beta, iOS 18.1 includes the first Apple Intelligence features for the iPhone, including writing tools, notification summaries, and more. Apple Intelligence is available on the iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max, and any iPhone 16 model.

Hopefully battery life increases. My 15Pro has gone from 100% to 92% health since upgrading to 18. Battery life is significantly less that it was before.

Been through every feature, deleted new apps, turned off background refresh, disabled always on display. Pathetic that I cant use the features designed for the phone and it won't get me through the day im also a low usage user if I get to 3h30mins of on screen I lucky per day.

It is also HOT all the time so much so that I notice it in my pocket.

Cant tell you how disappointed ive been with this device since I got it. Never had any issues with my 11 pro and I sold it after 3 years with 93% health an my just over 12 month old phone has deteriorated that quickly.

Hopefully its going to be today. I've had quite a few random app crashes including native apps like mail and settings crashing, touchscreen unresponsiveness when unlocking the phone and opening apps, stuttering UI animations (at the end of the pop up animation when opening an app) and other general glitchy annoynaces on my 15PM.

I’m sorry but it is still „beta” version IMO. Dictation is crapped. Dictionary is crapped. Battery is crapped. Apple have to give update ASAP !

Better late than never. This really taught me to not upgrade to an X.0.0 update again though. Both my Watch and iPhone are way less pleasant in daily use than before. Next time I’ll let you guys be the beta testers :p

Battery life of my 14PM has dropped significantly to the point I can’t even get through the day without charging. The mixed language keyboards (I use multiple languages) is a very nice idea but it’s not pleasant to work with yet for various reasons. Autocorrect for example has become not very smart to put it mildly. The solutions of calculations in chats are always wrong. Watch keeps hanging after certain notifications.

iOS 18 brings a lot of QoL updates and previously missing functionality to iPhone but my 14PM is now buggier than an Android phone lol
I almost always wait until x.1 to upgrade, but this year installed a few days after release because of RCS. In the future, I'm going back to my original strategy of waiting.
