With the current state of iPadOS, I could not see the point in spending over $1,000 for an iPad.

I can't imagine buying a 2TB tablet. For me personally, by the time I got anywhere near filling that space I'd be ready for the next best thing that has come out. I get that my situation is different than others, but I'm curious what percentage of iPad pros are the 2TB variety.

I regret buying an iPad Pro M1 12.9 so much. I wanted a good portable device and a good at home device. I decided an iMac 24 for the home and an iPad Pro for on the road. Use side car etc as well so it can compliment my Mac at home. But my god iPad OS has proven way too limited to be reliable enough to be used for anything productive in my use cases. I even purchased the magic keyboard to help but the apps just aren’t as good as on the Mac and without windowing, split screen etc just isn’t as intuitive when doing anything other than basic research or consuming. I’m not even using my iPad as a full laptop replacement or anything, just the occasional laptop task and it’s not up to scratch. I wish I’d of just got a MacBook and an external monitor so I have it portable and for at home. Then maybe just an iPad Air for media consumption and the odd pencil use!

For a rich grandma it's sufficient to keep in touch with her grandkids and facebook friends.
yes, probably that's it what are they useful for, given current state of PadOS (and i am saying it as a user of iPad Mini 6). I use that device for three things, which are browsing, a night bed card game and chess/football game. The thing is useless for anything else, including email. Occasionally, I use it for livescore of music sheets.

My kid uses her iPad to make small animated Youtube videos by taking and combining hundreds of screenshots. As a FCP user, the mere view of that convoluted and unnatural creative process iPadOS forces on us, depresses me most, because I can imagine how my kid could be more productive if the OS were something more productive.

Oh well, I knew what I was buying my Ipad Mini 6 for, so no complaints. Generally it is an expensive and mostly useless toy in its current state.

I’m just asking genuinely, but do you think iPadOS is really that broken where you wouldn’t suggest spending ~$1000 give or take on this iPad?
I think unless you are a graphic designer or artist that depends on the Apple Pencil, a MacBook Air would be the better device since it has a less limited operating system that can still run most iPad applications. That and for the price of a 256GB iPad Pro with magic keyboard, you can get a 1TB MacBook Air with 16 gigs of memory. I would rather have that over a touch screen/mini-LED display. Obviously this is only my opinion, I am sure that some will disagree.
