This deal now matches the same sale price of the 32GB Apple TV 4K, allowing you to double the storage of the set-top box at no extra cost. Compared to past sales, this is a match of the all-time low price on this version of the 2021 Apple TV 4K.

Apple updated the Apple TV 4K in April 2021, including an A12 Bionic processor, 4K high frame rate HDR support, and the redesigned Siri Remote. This version of the Siri Remote is larger than the previous model, and it includes a clickpad control wheel, a dedicated power button, and a side button for Siri controls.

It's still overpriced by $129. I considered upgrading from my 2015 Apple TV to the 4K Apple TV box. Then it dawned on me. There's so little 4K streaming content. My (2) Google Chromecast's which I purchased from Walmart $45 each and they do 4K. Then clincher was that the Apple TV+ app is available on the new Google Chromecast. So for $90 I paid a little less than 50% off the price of an Apple 4K box.
I have to confess that I’m an Apple TV fan and have been using one since 2010. Having said this, I’ve had the original chromecast, the 2nd generation chrome cast and the Google chromecast with google TV. I’ve also got a fire TV stick and I’ve tried a roku stick in the past. So I’ve pretty much tried them all. Still think the Apple TV is the best over all. It’s more stable and has a better interface. I bought the google chromecast with google TV for an upstairs TV but still ended up getting a 4th gen Apple TV.

Tim Cook should consider to redirect AppleTV resources to its AR/VR project as at this point the device is great hardware however it’s capabilities have been available on most other platforms and devices while this device still being overpriced. If the iPhone SE 2022 and iPhone mini 12/13 have been selling poorly while being discontinued I fail to see what the sales numbers are for an AppleTV box.

Seriously Shield has as good if not better hardware and capabilities and about the only thing is missing is AirPlay 2 while on most other TV’s it’s built-in along with ChromeCast. At this point the key feature of AppleTV being AirPlay2 is already on many TV’s by default and works well while GoogleTV has taken and still is hugh chunks of the living room market share. I owned many AppleTV devices and when compared to the Shield it’s just feels like the original words from the late Steve Jobs, “a hobby”.
I don't know. The Apple TV is a bit more expensive, but it lasts for years and IMO also provides a better experience than the other boxes. Fluid UI, great remote (the new silver one), no ads, great apps like Infuse etc. It's the only one that allows you to watch the extras on iTunes movies (commentaries, alternate cuts, making ofs etc.), and is one of two Apple devices that can act as Homekit hub.

I've definitely bought my last Apple TV. Way overpriced, and since the Apple TV+ service has been sub-par, the only benefit to owning one is air play. You can play through Alexa or Chromecast for a fraction of the cost.

I am curious; when you said Apple TV is the best, can you tell us more?

I use Roku, FireTV, and played with Apple TV a little.

From streaming perspective, I found them to be all the same. I want to know whether there is something that I missed.
I think it’s more because I use a lot of other Apple products, the Apple TV works better with my other devices. For example I can airplay, all of my purchases are available on my Apple TV, I can use my HomePods as speakers for my Apple TV. I can control playback on my Apple TV using my Apple Watch or iPhone. I can do workouts and use my Apple Watch to track my workouts.

Obviously if I were an android user then the Apple TV wouldn’t be that useful to me and a chromecast or fire tv would be better.

On the fire TV, I’ve never liked the interface and the particular device I have is not stable.

From a hardware perspective I prefer the Apple TV remote because it isn’t made of plastic. It’s made from premium materials.
