safaripreviewiconApple today released a new update for Safari Technology Preview, the experimental browser Apple first introduced in March of 2016. Apple designed the Safari Technology Preview to test features that may be introduced into future release versions of Safari.

Safari Technology Preview release 19 includes bug fixes and updates for HTML Form Validation, Pointer Lock API, Input Events, URL Parser, Web Inspector, Shadow DOM, Rendering, and more. Preview 19 also adds Touch Bar support in Webkit.

The Safari Technology Preview update is available through the Software Update mechanism in the Mac App Store to anyone who has downloaded the browser. Full release notes for the update are available on the Safari Technology Preview website.

Apple's goal with Safari Technology Preview is to receive feedback from developers and users on its browser development process. Safari Technology Preview can run side-by-side with the existing Safari browser and while designed for developers, it does not require a developer account to download.

How many previews do we need before this goes final!? Damn
It's never going final. The Safari Tech Preview just keeps iterating while merging its content into the main Safari release.

HTML5test ('http://html5test.com/index.html') score went from 444 to 452. Nice to see that Safari is catching up and now only 8 points behind Edge and 9 points behind Firefox.

How is battery life in these Preview Versions compared to the regular one?
No differences between them for me, STP is my favorite browser on the Mac. Faster than regular Safari versions when you don't want to use macOS betas.
