VjayforiphoneAlgoriddim today launched vjay for iPhone, the smaller brother of vjay for iPad which launched earlier this year.

The software allows creative types to remix music videos in real time, similar to what djay does for music. djay for iPad won an Apple Design Award in 2011.

Mix and scratch your favorite music videos from iTunes or combine songs from your music library with personal video footage into an interactive audio visual experience. Or use your iPad's built-in camera to create your very own music video live. vjay lets you get creative with your content, display directly to a TV, stream wirelessly via Apple TV, or record your performances live to share on your favorite social channels.

To promote the launch of vjay, Algoriddim is giving away djay for iPhone and offering djay and vjay for iPad for half price.

vjay for iPhone is available on the App Store for $0.99. [Direct Link]
vjay for iPad is available for $4.99, down from $9.99, for a limited time. [Direct Link]
djay for iPhone is available free for a limited time. [Direct Link]
djay for iPad is available for $9.99, down from $19.99, for a limited time. [Direct Link]

I used to have this for iPad. Hated it so much I sold it to my buddy. Just happy I got my money back otherwise I would've been ticked.

how did you sell an app tied to your itunes account?

djay was one of my favorite apps until I put my music into iTunes Match and found that djay would no longer work. Unfortunately, djay will only work with music loaded on your device.

THATS the killer with iTunes Match.

Same thing goes for my car head unit.......ever since I purchased iTunes match, now I cant access my albums via the tv on the headunit. I have to use my iPhone to find what song I want to hear via iTunes Match

LOL. The failure was on your end my friend. It's ALWAYS been known that Apple is absolutely NOT providing a 'streaming' service. Period. Of course you need to download your content to use dJay! Can you imagine the latency issues one would have mixing music that's in the cloud...ie, streaming?
I'm assuming you're being sarcastic about this as it makes absolutely NO sense how Algorridim (sp?) could possibly do this. Without the guarantee of <3 or 4ms Ping times and downloads in the LTE flavor to come close to being able to make this a reality. Even plugged in to Google's new fiber network in KC--I'd imagine this still to be an impossibility...even at speeds of 750mb/s down. The access isn't comparable to having the data (or audio/music in this case) stored locally...and better yet, on the high speed NAND storage on iOS devices.

Algoriddim (again, sp?) has done you, me and any aspiring DJ an absolute favor with these apps. We use Serato and Traktor as our main programs for mixing at live events. This year, my company will do over 200 weddings, private and corporate parties, reunions and sweet 16s! We use iMacs as our primary source...the iPads as backups. We also use MBPs as DMX lighting control. The iMacs have either Serato or Traktor with corresponding control mixers and the iPads and MBPs each have Algorridim's dJay. As a redundant measure in the case of an iMac failure or 'crash'
In the case of the 135+ weddings we did this year, more than half request us to do the ceremony as well. Even though you're only playing a handful of tunes...iPad with dJay is invaluable when transitioning between Canon, Ave Maria, or whatever the bridal parties 'march song' is--right into 'Here Comes the Bride!'...no need to set up entire mixing racks or full computers for the ceremony. Allows us to be discrete, stay out of the pictures, and still sound excellent WITH the ability to record the ceremony's audio as well with Garage band. We use the Alesis I/O for the iPad and I can't tell you how much time, weight and effort the addition dJay has made for my company. When it comes to loading sound and lighting gear in and out, every pound counts. And in this case, we've literally eliminated over 100 pounds in necessary sound gear to perform ceremonies. For homecoming this year, we used vJay for the first time in a live performance. Tied into a front projector and shot to a 15' screen behind the DJ booth--we absolutely BLEW the kids (and the staff) out of the water...and we didn't even know what the hell we were doing! Lol...the software itself will make an absolute rookie look like a pro! It's amazing!!!

I can't find anything but love for either of their programs. I've been running an audio production company for 22 years now...video starting about 13 years back. The difference today loading gear in and out is a night and day difference than the 80's. With milk cartons filled with vinyl, subs that weighed well over 300 pounds, amp racks that were close to 200#, and lighting...good lord, the lighting. 500 watt, $80 can lights that would break if you didn't let 'em cool...took their own 20amp circuit to run 4 of in a tripod..WoW!

Times have changed. Active speakers and subs, LED lighting, digital music, and a very capable source with efficient software (iPad + dJay) that weighs less than two pounds. Wireless mics that work. Damn! Don't think I'd have made it this long if it wasn't for companies like Traktor and Serato. But at 500-650 bucks, you had to be serious! At ten bucks for dJay? $150 for a decent external control surface? What isn't there to love??

Those of you that have grown up in the era of only digital DJ'ing, congrats. You missed the 'real work' (the labor part of the gig!). These days, one doesn't necessarily need a shower after the load in process pre-event

If you've not yet played with vJay, it's phenomenal. Try it out for a buck. You'll waste more than that just waking up tomorrow morning. It's absolutely unbelievable for an 'app' on a phone...for less than one American dollar.

Great job Algorridim! And thank you for all your work. Those of you that actually DO own the program are aware of the high end, high class support offered by this developer. As well, consistent and timely updates, lots and lots of attention to quash bugs, excellent and free updates..And you'll find those updates in your iOS device often! Very. Class. Act.

I don't work for the company. I don't know anyone at the company, and I'm in no other way associated with them. But as a business owner that relies on these companies to pay my mortgage, huge accolades from myself and my team of 5 Jocks. We appreciate all you do

djay works fine for me with my iTunes Match music that hasn't been previously downloaded.

The songs you are playing must be on your device.

Per algoriddim support center, regarding djay and iTunes Match......"As there is no way for djay to access songs in iCloud, they have to be downloaded onto your hard disk before you can play them in djay."
