Apple Fitness+ Layoffs Reported Ahead of Potential 'Major' Changes

Wild idea but hear me out:

I think Apple should pivot to in-person fitness events. Ternus seems a lot more social and in the world than Cook and the run club turnout at the latest event was insane. Paywall the events behind Fitness+ or come up with a new business model and tie it back to the Watch and the new Health app features like Longevity score. Other brands could be a part of it too like Nike, Gymshark, Ghost, Raw, etc.

I’m fully aware most people on MR will hate this idea but social fitness is huge right now and isn’t slowing down anytime soon.

I could see that working as promo stunts, but I don’t believe it would scale well due to the massive overhead of in-person events. Apple would essentially be getting into a variant of the gym business, and I don’t see them being interested in that.

Personally, I’d love a more tech-focused approach: Get rid of the infomercial style videos and use sensor data and machine learning to offer truly personalised training lessons and feedback

It's poorly executed. Apple needs to completely overhaul the service. It needs better structured classes.
The app UI has always sucked (recently it's gotten a tad better), but it's too little too late. Apple really dropped the ball with it.

The Workouts app needs to have the ability to track different use for exercise type with the weight, reps, sets etc.

I want them to keep the idea of having a fitness couch, and to display your heart rate stats on screen when doing a workout etc. All of that is cool, but man it's proper basic in everything else.
