13" M4 MBA sales are going to seriously muddy the Neo situation.

It's a way better machine if the price gets even close.

Call me crazy , but I almost think even a refurbished M2 or M3 Air at 16Gb ram would be worth it long term over the new Neo.

Call me crazy , but I almost think even a refurbished M2 or M3 Air at 16Gb ram would be worth it long term over the new Neo.
It's not even just the RAM. Faster chip, faster graphics, thunderbolt ports, backlit keyboard, better speakers, better display, better camera, longer battery life, MagSafe charging, ...

Unless you get the student discount the Neo's pricing makes no sense at all.

It's a way better machine if the price gets even close.
Unless I'm blind, the links show a $1200 Macbook Air spec on sale for $999. The Macbook Neo is $499 with education discount, not even close to the same price. For a lot of people DOUBLE the price is not doable.
