Does Apple's Event Invite Hint at New MacBook Colors?

Apple's invitation graphic for its March 4 "Apple Experience" could well be hiding a subtle clue about what's coming.

The 3D Apple logo on the invite is composed of layered discs in yellow, green, and blue - a color palette that lines up with rumored color options for Apple's upcoming low-cost MacBook.

Coincidence? Perhaps not. After all, Apple's September 2023 "Wonderlust" event invitation featured an Apple logo with fine, metallic lines in shades of gray, blue, and silver, which turned out to be referencing the brushed titanium finish and color options for the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max.

In further support of the theory that Apple is doing something similar again, the Weibo-based leaker known as "Instant Digital" has independently claimed that the color scheme of the Apple logo graphic should match the colors of the new entry-level Mac.

Bloomberg's Mark Gurman recently reported that Apple has tested light yellow, light green, blue, pink, classic silver, and dark gray finishes for the budget laptop, but not all are expected to ship. Separately, analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has said the device could come in silver, blue, pink, and yellow, which again matches the invite's color scheme up to a point.

Three of those colors are right there in the graphic. Pink is the notable absence, but Apple could always be keeping a surprise up its sleeve for announcement day.

Multicolored Low Cost A18 Pro MacBook Feature
If the colors do match up, it would make the entry-level MacBook Apple's most colorful laptop line since the iBook G3 era in the late 90s.

The "Apple Experience" kicks off on March 4 at 9:00 a.m. ET.
