Dumping the old stock just like all the people on Facebook marketplace are trying to sell their MacBooks before the price plummets.
But those of FB are probably dumping the 8GB models. These have 16GB which is a solid deal.

The M2 Pro Mac Mini / 16BG Ram / 512MB SSD on Amazon.co.uk is currently just shy of £1200 and apart from the SSD, the M4 Mac Mini is better in every way for only £599. I think now that Apple Silicon is in its 4th generation we're going to start seeing substantial depreciation of previous generations, especially given the performance gains each year are much greater than they used to be in the Intel years. There's no serious way you can sell an M2 Pro Mac mini for £1200 when the new M4 Mac mini is £599. The 2nd hand market doesn't seem to have adjusted yet because people still want £500 for an M1 Mac mini on eBay, but they'll soon have to realise their devices aren't going to hold their value like they used to.

Does that price include the VAT?
American prices are without tax.
Sales tax is charged by the state. In some areas such as Oregon you will not be charged sales tax. In some areas the tax is almost 10%.

People managed to get Apple to increase the base ram from 8GB to 16GB by constantly complaining about it at every launch. Maybe we can get them to increase the base SSD from 256GB to 512GB next too ?.
