Apple Planning to Open Large Office in Miami

Apple is leasing 45,000 square feet of space in an office building in the Miami area, reports Bloomberg's Mark Gurman. The company already has a smaller office space in the Miami area, but is planning to upgrade.

Apple's current Miami location is focused on advertising and Latin America. The upgraded office is located at The Plaza Coral Gables, south of Miami, and it is under construction.

Multiple tech companies have been expanding to South Florida, including Amazon and Microsoft. Apple is also planning to open a new retail store at the Miami Worldcenter in the heart of the city.

Apple has large campuses in California, Washington, and Texas, plus it is building a major campus in Raleigh, North Carolina. Apple also has smaller offices in cities around the world, including Singapore, Germany, Ireland, and Shanghai.

This particular development has been in the local news due to a homeowner who refused to sell his house on the site where it was built.

So it's this massive high rise development with a tiny single family home nestled in the middle of it.

Every time I go cycling in that area I have to stop by and look at it because it's so quirky and weird.

Miami is the perfect city because it’s business friendly and doesn’t extort businesses and its workers with super high taxes and silly regulations.

There’s a reason why Florida is one of the fastest growing states while businesses (and people) are fleeing California and NY.

I hope Tim Cook and all the other c-suites have to commute 5 times a week into the office so everyone else can watch them work. You know, for collaboration.

Super high income taxes, but I think there are taxes and fees that my Floridians tell me they pay that Californians don't pay. States gotta get their money some how.

As far as regulations, yeah California has way too many "bad, just there because" regulations.
Of course, Floridians have to pay taxes but it’s nowhere near as bad as California.

There’s a reason why California has had the highest net loss of citizens and businesses, and for the first time in its history, lost a congressional seat. Not to mention, they’re billions in the red and trying to find new ways to tax Californians to make up for their massive budget deficit while Florida is one of, if not, the fastest growing state, has a budget surplus, investing heavily in their infrastructure and is #1 in education. Even Disney is planning to spend record amounts to expand and improve DisneyWorld (not Disneyland).

I don’t live in Florida but they’re clearly doing something right.
