It would seem so.

But the slow charging and lack of spO2 measuring, dual band wifi, smaller battery, old gen heart rate sensors, etc., makes it too much of a compromise for anyone but the most casual of casual users.

..aaand really not a great deal altogether compared to a discounted series 7 or even series 6

Apple still need an entry-level Apple Watch for $99 without a band or charging adapter, that way you can bring your own. Would be ideal for first time buyers getting their first experience and for parents getting their children something where they could track them and the children could make emergency calls only.
A $99 Watch without a band or a charger is not ideal for first time buyer ! How are they going to wear it or charge it ! ?‍♂️……… the SE is entry level ..
