Why hasn’t Apple released a MFi program for these chargers to allow them to run at full 15w?
I like the slim form factor the vent model compared to my current solution but disappointed these things still aren’t running at full speed 8 months after the tech was introduced.

Reminder that “MagSafe compatible” ≠ MagSafe. It’s basically just regular Qi charging with magnets lol

I can’t blame Mophie though, I wish Apple made it easy to license the tech.

Likely not 15W for Apple devices since it appears to be Qi and not proper MagSafe.
You are right. Very sneaky. Mophie's description:

"15W wireless charging pad for Qi-enabled and MagSafe compatible devices"

But on the footnote:

"Up to 15W wireless charging for Android devices. Up to 7.5W wireless charging for iOS devices."

I have to admit, both $59.95 snap+ wireless charging stand and $49.95 snap+ wireless vent mount look good to me, with 15W MagSafe charging. My only quibble is Mophie's Apple-like prices, although to be fair, their design and quality are not far off from Apple's.

Don’t let the description fool you. Yes 15W wireless charging is theoretically possible for Qi devices that support it. But iPhone can only charge 7.5W over Qi. These products are not true MagSafe.

It's amazing to me to see how the new owners of mophie have reduced the product quality down to just injection-moulded textured plastic. They moved the product lines from premium materials and charging innovations down to a level that's too expensive to compete on Amazon for what little they offer. It's no wonder the company was sold to private bank this January due to its debts from poor sales.

Apple News Loses CNN

American multinational news company CNN has abruptly pulled its content from Apple News, Semafor reports.
