Apple Seeds Second Beta of tvOS 13.4.5 Update to Developers

Apple today seeded the second beta of an upcoming tvOS 13.4.5 update to developers, two weeks after seeding the first beta and a month after releasing tvOS 13.4.

Designed for the fourth and fifth-generation Apple TV models, the tvOS 13.4.5 developer beta can be downloaded onto the ‌‌‌‌‌Apple TV‌‌‌‌‌ via a profile that's installed using Xcode.

tvOS updates are typically minor in scale, focusing on under-the-hood bug fixes and improvements rather than major outward-facing changes. There's no word yet on what's included in tvOS 13.4.5, and we saw no new features in the first beta.

Though we don't often know what's new in tvOS during the beta testing process, we let MacRumors readers know when new updates are available so those who are developers can download it upon release.

Feels like an Apple TV refresh is in the works. I would assume there's extra extra incentive to get it done for everyone bingeing at home during the quarantine. I plan to buy it, it would be my first Apple TV. My guesses on delays, would be making it so that it works flawlessly in all regulatory environments. Rolling out a game console grade device to obviously Rock Apple Arcade. and to take it into outer space, into the grey ha ha, I would think they're developing a proprietary surround sound format, to blend with new cheaper Homepods and a new bass pod. or at least be completely ready to interface with that emerging product line in the future. Equally so, probably making their own DAC, to really wrap up their music play. I expect them to take a nibble on the high end audio streamer DAC market. Kinda like when they paired harmon kardon speakers with the G4, or the design ethos of the Nexus Q.
