SiriusXM today announced the launch of a new SiriusXM Radio app for the Apple TV, designed to allow SiriusXM subscribers to listen to more than 200 commercial-free radio channels.

The new app is available on the fourth-generation Apple TV and the Apple TV 4K with an interface that has been optimized for the two set-top boxes.

SiriusXM Radio for Apple TV offers customizable music and comedy channels, access to a library of archived SiriusXM On Demand content, easy access to preferred channels and shows, and a syncing feature for resuming shows from SiriusXM On Demand across devices. There's also an integrated screen saver for viewing currently playing content.

"Apple TV is one of the leading and most innovative devices in the burgeoning world of in-home audio and video entertainment. We are excited to bring our extensive programming lineup into homes nationwide with Apple TV," said Jim Cady, SiriusXM's Executive Vice President of Products, Operations & Connected Vehicle.

The SiriusXM service offers access to a wide range of music genres, exclusive channels from Howard Stern, live games and events from professional and college sports, news broadcasts, comedy shows, and more.

Pricing for access to SiriusXM starts at $10.99 per month for a music package and goes up to $20.99 per month for an all access package that includes access to sports channels.

No thanks. I refused to pay for a service that offers the same product as terrestrial radio (a short format of the same 5-10 songs that corporate wants you to hear) with even worse reception and audio quality, so I'm definitely not going to pay $21 a month just to listen to my local sports teams' games. On my TV. When I get the TV stations carrying their broadcast.

Nevermind that they're now Nazi sympathizers.

I'll stick with Apple Music.
When is the last time you actually listened to SiriusXM? I’ve had it for over 10 years and you can’t be further from the truth. They rotate their playlists frequently and terrestrial radio is nowhere near the audio quality of Satellite.

Retail price is for suckers. Every time I have called to cancel my membership, I tell them I am not paying above X price. The rep puts me on hold to talk with the manager, and then comes back to tell me that they will give me service at my price versus losing me as a customer. I am guessing their customer acquisition cost is very high.

I pay $132 (after taxes) for the "All Access" package that includes the car, internet and mobile streaming.
I do the same. I have always called the same girl each year for my renewal. She gets me around $115 CAD after taxes for in-car and streaming, plus she either throws in our other car with streaming or gives it for about $50 CAD. It varies year by year, but I’d recommend everyone reaching out to loyalty.

I seriously just checked last weekend if there was a Sirius XM app for Apple TV! Guess I was ahead of my time :) Welcome news indeed. Hopefully, the interface is better than the IOS version, especially with regards to channel numbers and featured channels.

Serious question (see what I did there): Sirius can you please add the ability in the IOS app to select a channel based on its number.

I gave up on them years ago. I fly solo with Apple Music and Podcasts nowadays. I think they’re all of sudden supporting all these new interfaces to try and stay relevant as users leave them in droves to other streaming offerings.

Right because terrestrial radio is normally better due to higher amounts of bandwidth available. SXM has around 4 MHz available for their entire lineup and they have hundreds of channels. Your local FM channel has 88-108MHz specifically for it. If you're in a big market you will end up with audio about 64-96kbps equivalent of bitrate compared to 32-40kbps with SXM.
