Palm and Pocket PC
Microsoft released it's rebranded handheld platform as Pocket PC.
Apparently, Palm doesn't see it as a threat... Palm may have a good point. The Pocket PC market is perhaps aimed at those looking at higher end handheld devices. The new devices, complete with MP3 players, and full web browsers, certainly fill a gap.
Part of Palm's appeal has always been it's focus and simplicity. Throughout all this, Apple has remained silent about it's future plans. With the Mac connectivity of the Palm Pilot, Palm is the natural candidate for an Apple "clone".
