Apple's online stores went down early this morning ahead of rumors that the iMac will be refreshed with Thunderbolt and Sandy Bridge processors. New products are typically launched around 8:30am Eastern / 5:30am Pacific.

Maybe they should get a better system in place that lets them update on the fly....imagine if Amazon shut down every time they added a new product!
I'm pretty sure they do this on purpose. Closing the store adds even more excitement and media buzz to the announcement.
