Definitely a good move to come to the US, but New York state not a good idea with their negative attitude to business and they will have union crap to deal with.

Upstate NY is one of the fastest growing semiconductor manufacturing regions in the country, with existing foundries already in operation and new operations like Micron's massive memory fabrication campus under construction outside of Syracuse. By 2030 an estimated 25% of US-made chips will be from the region for a simple reason: water. New York State can be extremely business friendly when it wants to be and has a number of incentive programs to grow the industry, and none of the current operations are unionized.

This is good news. But the plant won’t be up and running for a number of years. So it’s not going to help us with the AI crisis.

New York is a good state and already has a partnership with Micron in the Capital District.

Why are you down on Unions? Unions are what got us a 40 hour work week, a 5 day work week, and a whole lot more. Unions protect employees from being exploited by the employers.

They need to expedite these things. Pick a place, stakeholders should move these things quickly.

New York is not a business friendly state. Many other choices that offer lucrative opportunities for all involved.

You want a locality to give away the store for a factory to be built? How's that Foxconn plant in Wisconsin doing?

Incentives need to have metrics that are met before they are paid out. New York won't just give carte blanche they will make the investment as long as the company is going to deliver on such investment.
