Apple Releases Snow Leopard-Compatible Printer Drivers

Apple today released a series of updates allowing users to download the Snow Leopard-compatible printer drivers that ship with Apple's new operating system. Apple has also posted a support document outlining which printer models currently have Snow Leopard-compatible drivers available.

Why would you download the ones that ship with Snow Leopard? Are they also useful to non-Snow Leopard users?

(My printers are all supported already :) )

It's for those moments when your employer or you get a new printer and realize that you don't have the drivers or don't have the disc nearby.

If they are going for "download-as-you-need" drivers in SL, I wonder why they still group the whole manufacturer together, rather than split them into sub-packages too? So if I need to install one HP printer, I have to install all the HP drivers at 350+ MB...

ok this sucks...

i have an HP DeskJet 3930 and the Drivers in the list are not supported...

I have an almost 5 year old HP PSC 1350 all-in-one printer and it looks like it's not supported. Does this mean that I can't use the printer with Snow Leopard??? Suck.

Clicking on the HP Link takes me to Ricoh drivers.
Clicking on the Ricoh Link takes me to Ricoh drivers.
Searching doesn't reveal a thing.
How can I get the HP drivers?

What good are these driver installers to us now when we can't install them without Snow Leopard installed and they come with it? :confused:

My copy is shipped and it's being delivered tomorrow morning Standard FedEx. :)

Strange, I have an Epson RX620 and in SL now I have the ability to scan whereas before I didnt although in these docs it says I would just be able to print.
This is with the stock SL printer drivers.
