Apple Skipping iPhone 18 This Year
Apple has no plans to release a standard iPhone 18 model this year, according to supply chain analyst Ming-Chi Kuo and several other reputable sources.
This September, Apple is expected to unveil the iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max, and an all-new foldable iPhone that will reportedly be named the iPhone Ultra. The regular iPhone 18, a lower-end iPhone 18e, and the iPhone Air 2 are not expected to be announced until around March 2027, as part of a new split-up launch strategy.
Apple already released the iPhone 16e and the iPhone 17e earlier in the year in 2024 and 2025, respectively, but now the regular iPhone 18 and the second-generation iPhone Air are expected to launch in March 2027 instead of September 2026.
The base iPhone 17 and the iPhone Air launched in September 2025 alongside the iPhone 17 Pro models, so this will be a notable change.
