AirTags dont use cellular data. The only reason I can think you want it is that you really enjoy charging proprietary batteries.

??? Do you mean that you will need an eSIM and so a cellular contract for each AirTag? That's not feasible.

1) It will be ludicrously expensive to run AirTags.

2) The battery will last a day at most.

As of right now, we are having to strap iPhones to the AirTags because we can't rely upon there being other devices to ping back... 5G AirTags will be a game changer!
Im not interested in charging AirTags every other day, not to mention needing a cellular contract for each one.
