According to a post on X today from a leaker known as Kosutami, Apple plans to launch AirPods Pro 3 in May or June this year.

The leaker also claimed that an AirTag 2 will launch around the same time.
Kosutami is best known as a collector of prototype Apple hardware, but they have occasionally shared accurate information about Apple's future product plans. For example, they accurately revealed that the iPhone 16 Pro would be equipped with a metal-enclosed battery, around 10 months before the device launched. They also provided an early look at an Apple Watch band that uses Apple's controversial FineWoven material.
The reason we have labeled this particular rumor as "sketchy" is because Kosutami made a similar claim in August 2024 about new AirPods Pro coming "soon," and that did not happen. The latest-generation AirPods Pro are still the AirPods Pro 2, which originally launched in September 2022 and were updated with a USB-C charging case in September 2023.
Will they be right about AirPods Pro 3 launch timing this time around? We shall see.
Kosutami previously said the AirPods Pro 3 will feature significantly better active noise cancellation than the AirPods Pro 2, which already offer up to twice as much active noise cancellation as the original AirPods Pro. There is also a good chance that the AirPods Pro 3 will get the same heart rate monitoring feature that debuted on the Powerbeats Pro 2.
Bloomberg's Mark Gurman previously said the AirPods Pro 3 will offer a new design, and he recently said the earbuds remained months away.
