Apple Begins Manufacturing iPhone 14 in India

Apple has begun manufacturing the iPhone 14 in India, the company has confirmed in a statement, with locally made models expected to be sold later this year.

iPhone 14 and 14 Plus Newsroom
In a statement to TechCrunch, Apple said it is "excited to be manufacturing ‌iPhone‌ 14 in India," just a few weeks after its launch. In the past, India has served as the production hub for older-generation ‌iPhone‌ models, while its production of newer models has only begun several months after they have been globally launched.

Apple and its leading supplier Foxconn have upped their investment in India over the last several years by training staff and opening new facilities. According to analysts, Apple plans to produce 25% of all iPhones in India by 2025, with other products such as the iPad, Apple Watch, and AirPods set to follow.

Correction: Foxconn does.
Apple doesn't make their own iPhones. Thus to have iPhones made is whatever country, it depends if Foxconn can/will open up factories there or not. So I find statements that said Apple "manufactures" stuff somewhere to be hilarious. That's like saying you "cooked" dinner while in reality you just ordered a take-out.

Apple is not Samsung. Samsung actually have their own factories.
China manufactures like 90% of the things on this planet. I think we understand what's being said.

I will not buy an Indian iPhone. I do not expect the quality to be as good as the ones made in China.
Lol. So Apple will take a hit to their brand that prides itself on QC, and sell substandard or defective units? This sounds like what people were saying when Japan first began manufacturing electronics back in the 70s.

Every iPhone should be lovingly handmade by Tim Cook in his home in California.
