Not a bad price if you’re looking to get into the AW just to test the waters ... but I agree with Geo, it’s going to be almost 4 years old before you know it.

That's nearly double the price.
I'm not saying the Series 4 or 5 aren't worth it.
But it's nearly double the price.

The Series 3 is in a great position right now. It has a ton of features, works smoothly on watchOS 6, and will be supported by watchOS 7. It does everything that is needed for a huge portion of the smartwatch market, for a very good price.

If anything happened to my Series 3, I would have no hesitation replacing it with another Series 3, rather than "upgrading".
Eh the way I see it is if I'm already spending nearly $200 on an item, and a much better version of it is only ~$100 more, it would be worth it.

The iPad 2 of Apple watches. I got one for $125 during Black Friday, it shows my notifications and tracks my runs. What else do I need? I’ll upgrade when it breaks.

With how substantial of a difference the Series 4 and 5 are, and are usually on sale for 299/329, I highly recommend getting one of those.

I understood Series 4 was discontinued.

I don’t think this is a good purchase in 2020. Series 6 is around the corner, Series 4 will reach this price soon and it is packed with more features and better hardware.
