Apple: White iPhone 4 Models Set for 'Second Half of July' Availability

Apple has just issued a brief press release addressing availability of white iPhone 4 models, which are now set to launch in "the second half of July" due to manufacturing challenges.
White models of Apple's new iPhone 4 have proven more challenging to manufacture than expected, and as a result they will not be available until the second half of July. The availability of the more popular iPhone 4 black models is not affected.

Not so bad of a delay...if you got lumped in the July 15 club and wanted a white you could cancel now then re-order to get your white one only 5-7 days later than the black would have arrived once available.

I wonder if it is really due to the window that is visible above the earpiece? I seem to think it is not due to this, as I am sure someone i.e. Steve would have picked up on this beforehand?
I want a Black one, I already have a white 3GS :D :apple:

Lessie - black phones are ordered more than white, and we're going to have a run on these phones for the first month globally. I know how to solve this "manufacturing challenge" - don't ship white phones for a month.
Wow - some challenge.

What's funny is that I called a few Best Buy's a little while ago, and they both said that the white ones won't be available until the end of August. Glad Apple finally came through and said something!
