Apple Seeds Rumored Golden Master Mac OS X 10.6 (10A432) to Developers

Apple has seeded Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard Build 10A432 to developers tonight. The 10A432 build has been rumored to be the Golden Master build for Snow Leopard. This designation indicates that it would be the final shipping build when it is ultimatly launched.

Snow Leopard represents the next major version of Mac OS X to be released to consumers and has been officially scheduled for September, though there has been some suggestion that it could appear later this month. Snow Leopard will provide a number of "under the hood" enhancements that should improve performance and stability.

Mac OS X Snow Leopard will be priced at $29 for current OS X Leopard owners, and users purchasing a new Mac on June 8th, 2009 or later can receive the updated operating system for $9.95 though Apple's "Up to Date" program.

This time, it's coming via a download from the ADC site, rather than Software Update or a DVD.

Please, could anyone post screenshots of even the smallest UI tweaks? Thanks. I found the last UI updates to be underwhelming.

I'm also hoping for a 64-bit driver for the GMA950, although I doubt we'll see that.

If it's been seeded to developers doesn't it mean it isn't really final yet? They're still testing for bugs and compatibility with this release, no?

They can still release a 10.6.1 update shortly after launch.

would be an unusual move to seed to developers before going on sale. dunno. A 64 bit compatibility list would be interesting.

It is essentially done. There may be a few tweaks, but for the most part, it's done.

Maybe this means a mid-late August release? I heard some MR members had their cards charged for the Up-To-Date discs.

No love for the Mac Pro ouch.

Definitely a release to entice new hardware purchases. Even if you're already on Intel.

I am interested to find out if this allows the santa rosa MBPs (2007 summer models) to run stably with 8GB RAM.

Do you mean SL won't run on the MacPro1,1?
