Apple Seeds Fifth Beta of macOS Sequoia to Developers

Color me shocked. :rolleyes:

They did not release a beta 2 of 15.1 nor a full installer of 15.0 beta 5. There is an ipsw of 15.0 beta 5 however.

The full installer for 15.0 beta 5 probably will be out tomorrow and if you have the 15.1 beta 1 you can install the new sequoia beta by downgrading with this full installer.

However it might be better to wait for the 15.1 beta 2.

This is great, but after upgrading to beta 5, macOS grinds to a halt after about 5 minutes on my M3 MBP Max due to dozens of `WebThumbnailExtension Web Content` processes (and an `OfficeThumbnailExtension` process) utilizing all CPU resources. The MBP is scorching hot to touch.

Is this normal? ?

Specifically, the app must use FileManager ('https://developer.apple.com/documentation/foundation/filemanager/1412643-containerurl') to get the app group container path and meet one of the following requirements: the app is deployed through Mac App Store; the app group identifier is prefixed with the app’s Team ID; or the app group identifier is authorised by a provisioning profile embedded within the app. If the app doesn’t meet these requirements, the system might present the user a prompt to authorize the app’s use of the app group container. If granted, that consent applies only for the duration of that app instance.
