Apple is planning to offer a new "Ring in the New Year" Apple Watch Activity Challenge starting on Saturday, January 1.
The Activity Challenge will require users to close all three of their Fitness rings for seven days in a row in January. That means meeting all stand, exercise, and move goals for a week.
As with all of Apple's Activity Challenges, the New Year challenge will be accompanied by an award that can be viewed in the Fitness app as well as a series of animated stickers that can be used in the Messages app.
Apple has hosted a New Year challenge for many years running now, and it is one of many Activity Challenges that Apple offers throughout the year to encourage people to meet their Fitness goals.
Pff.. With the ability to set your own targets like 100 cals and 1 min exercise and 1 hr stand goal etc, this will be piece of cake.. Speaking of which, who’s hungry? ?
Imma need to do this. Must get back to being a skinny legend. I lost 60lbs in 2019 using my Apple Watch, gained 50lbs during 2020 pandemic times, and have only lost 5lbs since then. Ugh. I've had multiple small injuries too, likely because I'm not as strong as I used to be, which keeps interrupting my exercise routine and keeps me from getting into a rhythm. I'll even start super slow, and something invariably goes wrong.
I'm very frustrated right now. It's not like I just sit on my ass all day either. I cleared very thick brush (couldn't see 3ft past your face) by hand using manual tools in the forested portion of my property, built my kids a treehouse, built them a swingset, currently working on building them a play area with a climbing dome and landscaping that, and have worked on other landscaping and yard maintenance and woodworking projects + a few evening walks of several miles during the week but apparently that's not enough. Wondering if I need to go to extremes and get a standing desk with treadmill or something. Working from home is rough on the body!
I haven't missed a day of closing all three rings since I got the watch, and I'm not stopping now. Can't stop won't stop. Now if you'll excuse me, I have to go finish off my half hour of exercise with some yoga
