Apple today released tvOS 15.1.1, a minor update to the tvOS operating system that first launched in September 2021. The tvOS 15.1.1 update comes one week after the launch of tvOS 15.1, software that brought SharePlay support to the Apple TV.

After being such an advocate for ATV hardware. Buying every version. Coming on this site defending it. After the latest fiascos? Dolby Vision black crush issue, Atmos sound issues, promised 120hz VRR and then to find out the hardware can't even do it. Making this latest ATV just a REMOTE upgrade. (yes I know it has a faster CPU but its not that noticeable) I tossed it in the trash. Well, to be clear. I set it on fire and then tossed it in the trash. I then walked over to Apple's software division and put their hat on. The ATV+ app on LG TVs are wonderful. At least 2020+ model TVs with a zippy enough CPU. No Dolby Vision black crush issues, Atmos has been flawless, lip-sync is far tighter. Gives me mostly all I wanted from the ATV.
Next time, please recycle

Hopefully (but not holding my breath) it addresses the fact that "My Computer" Photo libraries either take many many minutes to load, or never load at all. That's new behavior.

I hope they fix the issue with the new Apple Remote not connecting for 20-30 seconds after rebooting or not waking up. I’ve had to use my iPhone as the remote until it reestablished connection. There’s a thread on it in the Apple TV sub forum.

Not sure if this is an issue with the remote or tvOS, but this has been a constant issue with the 2.5 week old 2021 Apple TV 4K (2nd gen) with aluminum remote.
Just click any key (such as the on/off or volume keys) on the remote and it will connect within seconds.

Does this fix HomeKit? iOS 15 broke my whole house.
I was hoping today's 15.1.1 release would include some HomeKit bug fixes. But since they seem to have pulled iOS 15.1.1 pretty quickly and no audioOS 15.1.1 came out for HomePods, I'm going to guess there's nothing HomeKit related in here.
